In Social Awareness class at SCAD I participated on a team that worked with students from the Risers Academy for Young Men (Savannah GA) on developing a mark to represent themselves. We taught them about what we do as graphic designers, what the process of branding and logo development is, and then guided them through the process of brainstorming and sketching logo ideas. We then took those sketches and each member of our team created a sample logo.
My logo design (Image 1) was chosen by the Academy and the students to be used as their official mark. (image 2) shows some of the students and myself at the logo reveal event. (Image 4) shows the student sketches that I used as a basis for my design and (image 3) shows the students from the Risers Academy during the sketching and brainstorming process.
